Central Alberta's Original Axe Throwing venue and locally forged in Sylvan Lake. We are a unique and exciting way to break up the every day monotony. Bring your friends and find your inner lumberjack, maybe you can even become an Axe Maverick!
Wood Shed - Axe Throwing Description
The Wood Shed is a recreational sporting venue unique to the Central Alberta region. We offer a completely unique environment and experience, combining the thrills of target shooting with the competitiveness of any team sport. Throw axes and feel a unique rush as you connect with this raw, sophisticated sport.
We operate casual and competitive axe throwing events for social and corporate groups. All group reservations are fully staffed with trained instructors, guiding groups through structured tournaments lasting approximately 2 hours. Parties, team building events, a casual night out with friends. We welcome anyone who’s ready to embrace the rugged history of our sport.
Drinks are also available for purchase and consumption.

What an amazing time, plus the staff were outstanding. Would totally recommend to all my friends and family. Will be returning in the future.
We were tired of the same old song and dance for date night - dinner and a movie. I wanted to try something new, fun and active. The staff at The Wood Shed were amazing! They showed us a few different techniques on throwing and then we were on our way for the hour. They even stopped by periodically to give us tips on how to improve! The price was great too! There's not much you can do for $20/person anymore.
Great time, we'll definitely be back again
We took a group of 20 ranging in age from 16-60 years and it was awesome! Regardless of age or physical ability everyone had a great time and was able to participate. We will definitely be back!
We had a blast last night. Drew was awesome and should win employee of the month. He made our night.
Was a great afternoon of fun chucking some axes with friends and family. Would highly recommend to anyone. Great staff and great fun had by all.

I would have to say this was the best birthday get together I have had. This place is a blast and the staff are amazing. This is defiantly going to be on the list for the next date night with the hubby 🤗
I wish there was a 6 stars for places like this. We were able to book online and pay our deposit via PayPal, which I love. The staff member I interacted with before our event was extremely helpful and very nice. Finally during the event our host was extremely friendly, and made it a truly fun event. I will absolutely be back, and look forward to sharing this excellent experience with others.
I spent two hours throwing axes with a group of 9 people. We had four lanes to throw on and it was an awesome experience. The staff were fantastic, it was affordable, and it didn't take long for any of us to get reasonably consistent for first timers. I'll absolutely be back. This is a totally worthwhile experience.

Had a great time tonight celebrating my little cousins birthday! The three of us enjoyed the one - on -one training we got from Ray and Drew and they even taught us some fun games !
