At this time a main area of focus is assisting temporary foreign workers already living and working in Alberta with the permanent residence application process, often through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). When the PR process is complete, work permit extensions are no longer required, and the successful applicant is then able to work in different departments without requiring government approval—a change which benefits both the employer and the employee.
