Hands down Words & Pictures is the best place in YYC to buy comics and comic related toys. The store is extremely well organized it was easy to find what exactly I was in search for. I felt welcome which in other comics stores in the city I feel like a burden to the staff. I am so happy I google the best comic store in Calgary and Words & Pictures was at the top of the list and I am happy it was. Check out the place for back issues on many comics ranging from 1970s to now. If it is not there the store owner told me with absolutely welcoming tone I can get it for you. This is my new comic store. SHOP LOCAL ALWAYS!!!

Fantastic store with a great selection and friendly staff. I was able to find a couple back issues which I needed and at a cheap/fair price. They were the only shop that I visited on Free Comic book day (in October) that offered a significant (30%) discount to honor the special day.

Rob and Deb are such awesome people! Super welcoming and all your nerdy needs can be fufilled. They also always manage to get the really cool limited edition collector statues if you're on file and order from the previews. Also if you're late on ordering they try their best to get the item for you. Pricing is fair and it's just a wicked little comic shop to get all your comic and collectors needs. Course this is just for upcoming things, still they have some sweet readily available stuff for sale too! Always ontop of the game I say.

The owner is always friendly and has a wide selection of comics available in his store. Pretty quiet whenever I f visit though which is nice.

Back issues are the best, and if your looking for them I suggest you start with this store, they have a great selection of comic books from the 80s and what not. But the people working there are awkward, maybe it was just because I'm a kid, I will make sure its busy when I come to buy some comics next time.
