World Health - Bay

This company is a total rip off. Upon cancelling, because I was moving, I had to pay nearly 500$. During the initial meeting I stressed I would be moving soon and was told something along the lines of being able to 'freeze' your account.

The money they take for "improvements" is also total bs. There is still the same hole in the roof from when I started going there to the time I stopped.

I'm not impressed at all how the cancellation was handled. I went in initially to the club to be told that I would need to call a number for the head office. I called the number and was then told I would need to call the club to cancel. I then called the club and was told again I would have to call the number on the card but not to worry and they would set it up for me.

After no response for a day, I called this number I was given, again, and stressed I had moved and was not able to make it in person. I was then given an email which I then was finally able to cancel.

Very unorganized and very unprofessional.

I was also told incorrect information by every person along this line of staff members and phone calls.

Originally I would just have to pay the cancellation fee, then it became the training sessions and the cancellation fee, then it was only the training sessions. Then it was everything again.

As a business you need to communicate to your staff so you are not relaying incorrect information to customers.

I would 10/10 never ever recommend this place to anybody. If you love wasting money this is the place for you.

I am rewriting a previous review. I originally gave 1 star as they have a very aggressive sales department and lack transparency when it comes to contracts and billing. After meeting with the GM my issues were resolved in a mutually agreeable matter we both compromised to come to this agreement where we were able to part ways without any bad feelings. At the end of the day the Gym is great. It is clean and bright. Just make sure you keep a copy of the contract and know that you are able to cancel if you pay a fee. I did not know that and payed for 1.5 yrs for nothing. I also did not take a copy of my contract so I was unaware that the payments would continue past the term date without formal cancellation. While this is my fault, the gym did have numerous opportunity to advise me of this.

Very aggressive marketing. Insincere people.
Harassing phone calls and half truths.
Sleazy. They put a contest box at a wonderful pizza place in town...to win a free gym membership. They gave the owner of the pizza place a year membership for free in return to place the 'contest' box at his restaurant. Our son inncoently entered.
We got a call from them a week later. They wouldn't say how they got our number at first.
Eventually by the third person they told us it was from the contest box. I asked if our son had won and they said he won a ten day trial at the gym. Sleazy. Every gym gives a trail anyway. So pathetic! Horrible marketing idea to harass and mislead people. The owner of the pizza place had no idea that the gym would call everyone and offer them a trial for 10 days. Final analysis...these people are psycho greedy lying idiots who are predatory and out of touch with how to be conscious human beings. We must stand against these mindless fools as we navigate the consumer landscape.

Would not recommend to anyone. Trying to get a hold of someone is a never ending battle. Everything about the gym is a total scam. I'm on a month to month no contract membership but can't cancel it due to personal training owing still on the account? Opted for x amount of payment instalments only to find out they have been talking 40$ less each instalment so I have almost 3 extra months of payments and they won't do anything about it because in the end the total amount is still the same. My personal trainer got fired in the middle of my sessions and not once did someone reach out to me regarding the remainder of my sessions until I left multiple emails and calls regarding cancelling. Overall worst money I have ever spent.

Not enough equipment as compared to their midnapore location. However, they make up for it in service and other ammenites. I usually go between the times of 6pm and 8pm.

The best of the World Health gyms in Calgary that I've been to, but that's not saying much. I like the TVs attached to the cardio equipment. I don't like how crowded and small it is. And the staff have a very annoying habit of interrupting my workouts to chat about nothing. I wish they would shut up and let me work out. I'm there to exercise, not keep bored staff members entertained. I quit going to this particular gym because they were so annoying.

This is the best gym I have ever been in my life all the stuff are friendly and outgoing. Every single time I have a question all the stuff here are approachable and they are more welcoming me as family member and they are so awesome I recommended everyone coming here!!! Yeah!!! Go go team !
