Yardworx Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance

If I could leave zero stars, I would. These people are nothing but dishonest crooks, preying on unsuspecting homeowners. The initial telephone consultation seemed promising; I told the lady I just needed grass and weeds pulled from a large perennial bed, and that it was a large job, but that I had a lot of prized perennials that needed to be treated with a delicate touch. She assured me that they were professionals, that they knew what they were doing, and that everything would be done gently by hand with tools such as a garden fork to remove the weeds by the roots. Instead, they took a weedwhacker to the bed when I wasn't home! They destroyed a few hundred dollars worth of beloved perennial plants and flowers, and I have photos to prove it. I can guarantee that at no point was any of the work done by hand. They left it an incomplete mess, then claimed it was too much work, something that the initial lady assured me wouldn't be a problem. When I spoke to the owner, he was rude, condescending and apathetic, and he had the nerve to charge me for the "work", as well as to "haul away debris", something that I could have taken to the nearby landfill free of charge right now in Calgary! I don't want these horribly unprofessional people back to my house, I just want my money back. I am now making sure to warn everyone about this company, and to avoid these headaches like the plague. I learned my lesson; never hire landscapers that require credit card information ahead of time, and that don't require supervision. The worst part is I was referred to them as I am a Calgary Horticultural Society member. I should have researched them first, as I would have seen the overwhelming negative reviews here and known not to proceed.

I bought a house which the yard was completely overgrown and bushes had not been trimmed in many years.
I reached out to yardworx they walked me through what I may need to do and arranged to provide services that I needed.
First the spring clean up wow the job was fantastic yard looking better already now the bed maintenance and shrubs which I knew would be a big job and they were very helpful at giving me a cost or at least an idea.
So having these services completed professionally and on time was a huge relief now I am ready for those summertime barbies.
So 5 stars all the way from start to finish.

I made the mistake of giving my credit card in advance, please take the time to read my review before choosing to use Yardworx.

Hired them to trim the hedge and 6 small bushes on our property. I have done this job every year for 12 years under two hours. But timing constraints made me have to hire out. Knowing this I chose to use Yardworx, giving them a max of 2 hours to complete, which is there minimum charge. They only completed 1/4 of the job saying they had used the two hours up and left. No phone call to say they needed more time. Just trimmed and left. Finished the job myself.. in 20 minutes. This was done first week of May 2017. I contacted them through email to a fellow named Chris, he said he would look into it. His reply was " job order" showed they clocked two hours. and filled one bag with leaves. So it took them two hours to fill one bag with trimmings.... My tenant asked me the other day if I had some work done without them knowing of the issue. I asked why, they said " oh some guys showed Up and started working, when I looked out the window 20 minutes later they were gone."

The photos below are of the property, before they showed up, unfortunately I did not take one after they had come for "two hours". Regardless, the only thing they did was trimmed the hedge in the second photo. You can see there was barely on growth on the hedge and they filled one bag. This did not take two hours to complete. The photos show the other 5 bushes, all small with little growth.

Have used Yardworx' fall cleanup service a few years now. They call well in advance to see if I'm interested. The automated 1 day warning before they show up is appreciated so I can pre-clean dog stuff and be sure to leave dog in house for the day. They do a thorough clean up and I come home from work to a tidy yard. Great value for the $. See you next year!

We get Yardworx to do our sidewalk and driveway every year while we are away on holiday so the house sitters don't have to do it. Yardworx is always here early to get the job done. If it snows all day long they have even come back later. We also get the spring clean up done. All work is done to a very high standard and workers are very polite.
