Thank you so much to the team at Grant Thornton LLP Canada for selecting YESS as one of their charities this year and their donation of $10,000!
It means so much to know that staff advocated for YESS and our youth, and that the whole team got behind that choice to empower youth and support them on their journeys towards healing. You're an amazing part of our community!

Since the dawn of humanity we have looked to the night sky to make sense of our place in the universe.
Joyful or hurt, comforted or lonely, we are all dreamers when we gaze up at the stars, seeing not the vast darkness but the light. Only together can we create a community of healing, hope, and love.
... Your evening under the stars will be filled with a unique show of artistic and musical performances, a gourmet feast, and cosmic wonder all in support of youth on their journeys towards healing.

Thank you to Beaverbrook Communities and to everyone who donated through the Christmas Tree Drive to make this awesome donation to YESS!
It means so much to see the community come together to support our youth and their healing journeys.

We hope you had a holly jolly Christmas! We certainly did--opening presents, visiting Candy Cane Lane, and decorating gingerbread trains!
We made a lot of special memories this holiday season, and we hope you and your loved ones did too!

It takes a community to create a space where youth can heal and move forward. It takes a community to ensure that a youth feels like a valued and welcome member. We cannot ensure this without you and your community walking beside us as well.
You are truly part of the community our youth need as we #healtogether
From the staff, board of directors, and youth at YESS, we wish you health and happiness this holiday season and in the New Year!

User

Every year for Christmas Eve we take the shelter and residence mattresses over to the Armoury Resource Centre for the youth to have a big sleepover beside the Christmas tree upstairs!
Thank you to all the donors, supporters, and volunteers who empower us to make Christmas special for our youth!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

User

Thank you so much for your generosity this holiday season! You are part of creating a healing community for youth!
We hope you and your loved ones are able to make time to spend together over the next few days and have a happy and restful holiday!

User

Thank you to Edmonton Public Schools teachers who invited us to their Annual Coffee Party and gave us so very very many socks for our youth!
Socks are an important item around here, especially in the winter when our youth need to keep warm! Thank you so much for thinking of our youth and for being part of the community creating healing, warm spaces for them!

There's nothing quite like the dynamic duo of SONiC 102.9 and Collin Bruce Mortgage Team!
This year's hot ticket calendar is the 2019 Abandoned Shopping Carts of YEG created by SONiC. They were available for purchase by donation until they sold out, and donations were matched by the Collin Bruce Mortgage Team!
Thanks to everyone who bought a calendar, SONiC 102.9, and the Collin Bruce Mortgage Team, a $20,000 donation was made to YESS this week!

We are always so grateful for this particular Christmas donation tradition: every year Eugene Chow brings a literal truckful of meat for our kitchens, carrying on the tradition of his friend, Gerald Knoll, who also made a big annual meat donation until he passed away in 2008.
This donation is a huge gift that helps our kitchens through the year. Eugene and Gerald and their families are amazing members of the YESS community, committed to helping create healthy, healing spaces for youth #healtogether

The Without a Home study needs your help!
Join us and several other agencies this January to amplify the voices of youth experiencing homelessness across Canada. The survey aims to collect an unprecedented data set on the experiences of young people with lived experience.

When Alyssa came to YESS, she was so afraid of being alone that she made relationships with toxic people. Through her own determination she focused on the most important relationship in her life: the one she had with herself. In learning to love and forgive herself, she was able to heal and grow and pursue her goals.
Self-worth is what youth need to build as they heal from trauma. Join us as we walk beside youth on their journeys towards healing and appropriate community integration at YESS.org/donate #healtogether

Thank you so much to Angels in the Night from Invis & Mortgage Intelligence for the huge donation they delivered last week--all items from our winter needs list!
Thank you for being part of the community creating healing and welcoming spaces for youth!

J.L. came to the overnight shelter and eventually moved into one of our residences as she worked towards her substance use and mental health goals. She found our Art Connections program and was able to explore her creativity, focus on her skills, and express herself through her artwork.
Self-Worth is what youth need to build as they heal from trauma. This includes self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-esteem. The Art Connections and the BEST Life Skills/Early Employment programs and YESS help youth learn and grow.

Thank you so much to the team from PCL Construction - Operations Equipment Group who visited Shanoa's Place to deck the halls for the holidays!
It meant so much to our youth to come home to find a Christmas tree and decorations all set up for them. Thank you for being part of the community creating healing--and festive--spaces for youth!

Self-Worth is what youth need to build as they heal from trauma.
Think about the communities where you work, live, and play. Many of us are fortunate to have people who love us, support us, care for us, and believe in us—even when we don’t believe in ourselves. The youth at YESS and other vulnerable youth-supporting agencies haven’t had those empowering experiences.
It takes a community to create a space where youth can be loved, supported, taught, and empowered. Join us and out amazing vulnerable youth-supporting partners as we #healtogether.

This Christmas season we are honoured to have been chosen as the beneficiary of the No Room In the Inn Campaign. This campaign reaches parishes and congregations across Edmonton, unifying them in a cause.
This year that cause is walking beside youth who have experienced trauma and homelessness. Our Programs Manager, Jessica, talked to Grandin Media about the impact this campaign will have not only on our programs, but also on youth themselves, knowing that their community cares about them.

We went to give donations from our office today, and the lovely woman who told us about the organization couldn't be more dedicated and sincere about her job. The facility is wonderful!

User

This is a needed society! The staff are amazing and so helpful!

User

Thank you yess for providing a save place for troubled and homeless teens.

User

Stay Beautiful <3 Thank You for all you do for those teens needing a little help. Much love

Lived in the sky program for over a year, changed my life. The support they gave me always filled me with hope. Thanks :)

User

Just watched a news about this org. We do very much need something like this to help those youth who are lost for now. So they get support to get their life back and do something good for the society and themselves.

User

It is a very important non profit society helping our youth!

I used this place once when I wanted a night away from YYC. It's like a premium homeless shelter for youth. Just wish they had enough beds to not turn down anyone and could accept every homeless youth that came across it.

28 years ago I found myself on the streets and was sex trafficked and exploited. I didn't want that kind of life for myself and ran away to YESS. YESS changed my life and gave me a hope and a safe place for one month to find my way. Thank you to the wonderful youth workers that saved me as a young girl so I could be the woman I am today.
