A few years ago, my sister showed me the book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing” by Marie Kondo. Great book, but even better now that it’s on Netflix. I’m loving all the tips and the philosophy behind the KonMari method. I’ve had clients downsize their homes. The philosophy was, “Less house, more life.” Same goes with your existing house, “Less stuff, more life.” The KonMari method also teaches us about being better consu...mers. Buying needs vs wants. P.S. I’ve konmari’d my kids drawers and they find it easier to find their clothes. And they have kept up with system. 5 year old folding his clothes and putting them away? Many sellers don’t know the difference between a slideshow video and an actual video of their home. A slideshow video of photos doesn’t evoke emotion with potential buyers. It’s “flat”, boring and also inexpensive to have done (anyone can create one). Actual video (and a great video) of your home requires skill from a videographer who has a trained eye, and will be another set of eyes on how to capture your home. If your potential buyer is an auditory and visual learner, vide...o is the way to go. A great video evokes emotion. And it can be played over and over again by that potential buyer. One of my buyers said she kept “playing the video over and over again” on one of my listings. She eventually fell in love and her and her husband bought the home. I have quite a few stories like this. I’m a big fan of great video. It’s standard for all my listings, no matter the price range. HELLO December! Today I was out with my kids and we went to MyORTHODONTIST Christmas party and met Santa. Crafts, food trucks with poutine and mini-donuts and horse-drawn wagon rides. Fun! Always a good time there. Even when you’re there to just get your braces adjusted. (They have Nespresso for the parents ☕️) Then we dropped by @cbrescue and saw some dogs getting their photos taken with Santa as well. All proceeds from their event goes to their amazing rescue. Belinda and C...olin Morrison are the founders of @cbrescue and they take the time to interview and screen potential owners for the dogs they rescue.
