Free relief + recovery acupuncture treatments for evacuees, volunteers, first responders in the wake of natural disasters.

Yyc Acupuncture Relief Project Description

Our free treatment consists of an auricular (ear) protocol, that involves placing five tiny needles in each ear of the patient while they sit and relax for up to 30 minutes. This protocol has been used for over 30 years, all around the world to aid in disaster recovery situations, PTSD treatments, addiction detoxification, and other traumatic events, and has demonstrated effects. After treatment, patients report feeling more relaxed, optimistic, calm and focused, that they sleep better, and have less tension, and relief from aches and pains. Please see the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) website for more information. (http://www. acudetox.com/)

All our volunteer practitioners are local registered acupuncturists, and this project is supported by our professional college, College and Association of Acupuncturists in Alberta (CAAA). (http://www. acupuncturealberta. ca /)

We are also supported by Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB), a non-profit organization that has treated over 20, 000 people following disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, California Wildfires, Arizona Shootings, Oklahoma School Shootings, and Iowa Floods. Please see their website for more information. (http://www. acuwithoutborders.org)
