Ryu Senshi Judo Club

Ryu Senshi is located in Spruce Grove, AB and is a member of Judo Alberta. Judo
is a Martial Art and Olympic Sport consisting of throws, grappling, hold-downs,
and submission techniques.

Spruce Grove Judo Club is affiliated with Judo Alberta (non-profit organization) which is
funded in part by the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Association (ASRPWF).
Traditional Kodokan Judo will be taught to individuals 7 years old and over.
Classes are conducted on authentic tatami (judo mats). All members are expected to help setup /
put away the judo mats. Washrooms are available for changing clothes. Do not leave
anything in the washrooms. Bring some type of tote /duffle bag for your uniform /clothes and
leave in the Gym
Teresa Yamada the Head Instructor is a 2nd Degree Black Belt with her NCCP Level 2
Coaching and First Aid certificate. She has been involved with Judo for over 20 years and in
the late 80’s was a part of the U of L Judo Team and during that time was also on the Alberta
Senior Provincial Team for 3 years.
